Developing a daily plan for your social media strategy can be highly advantageous. Starting a Facebook page or Twitter account and posting occasionally is simply not enough. To optimize the usage of your social media outlets, you must establish an effective strategy that will allow you to reach many followers and friends at one time. Take time to research and organize your content. Taking a short time to prepare for the coming week can optimize your social media campaign while making it easier on yourself. Decide where to post, what to post and when to post. Research has found that posting before 8:00 am or after 8:00 pm is close to useless while posting between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm will provide the most traction. After you have your plan constructed you must put it into action, using your social media platforms daily will ensure your marketing success. This is a very simple yet efficient check list you should apply to your daily social media campaign.

1.) Post Interesting and Valuable Information: Posts and tweets are essentially what make up your profile. Your posts should be informative and relevant such as a blog, an article or tip. 2.) Seek New Followers or Friends: The more followers and friends you have will only increase opportunities to benefit your business. Subjects left blank, vague, or suspiciously urgent will get you deleted on the spot. For examples, pay attention to the emails in your own inbox. Which subject lines sparked your interest and which didn’t? Mimic and repeat.

The Body: The trick to a successful email-marketing campaign is making the people on your mailing list feel like they’re not on an email-marketing list. That means, keeping it light and easily digested. It also means adding a little personality to your emails. If you’re sending out dry sales pieces, you’ll be treated accordingly. Add a little of your own voice to the emails and include all the pertinent info right there in the body of your email. Don’t fill up on attachments. Instead, copy-and-paste any relevant info, so your recipients won’t have to do any extra work. Sure, it’s only an attachment. But the less you ask, the more you’ll receive. After all, we’re all inherently lazy.

The Content Farm: So now you’re wondering where email marketing fits into your social-media marketing campaign. Right? Well that’s to be expected. Here’s the thing … Integrating your social-media pages and your email marketing campaign is not only the most effective strategy, it’s the least labor intensive. In other words, use your mailing list to promote your social-media sites and your social-media sites to add to your mailing list. Use each to boost the other. And share content, while you’re at it. Say you’ve just posted something to your business blog and wanted to ensure someone, other than you, reads it. Send out an email announcing the post with a link, a few highlights, and a short note to your clients and partners. Make it personal, easy-to-read, and top it with an enticing subject line.

Get Permission and Be Specific: The first, and most obvious way, to improve the reception of your emails is to get the recipient’s approval in advance. Focus and Customize: Now that you’ve got a list, think a little about what you’re going to send them. After all, having a confirmed mailing list doesn’t mean they’re going to stick with you regardless of what you’re sending them. Make your messages easy to read and focus on one particular message. There’s no better way to be ignored than to send out 1,000 words of meandering sales talk and desperate pleading. Make your emails interesting and useful and make sure to customize them. If an email looks like spam or too much work, it’ll be treated as such. Use the recipient’s name and make it appear less like a mass marketing blast and more like you’ve sent it to them specifically because you thought they’d be interested.

Use Social Media: If you’re using social media for your business, you should use it in your email-marketing campaign too. Include links to your various social-media pages and profiles in all of your emails. Not only will it encourage your contacts to visit and learn more about you and your business, it’ll likely boost the number of fans and followers you have online. That means, building opportunities to communicate and interact with your clients, contacts, and partners. It also means more contacts, word-of-mouth, and potential business.

Keep it Small: The best thing about being a small business and not a giant corporation is the ability to form personal relationships with your customers. And, because you’ve established that relationship, you can be assured your emails are being received by people that want to do with business with you. Which is to say, don’t be shy about asking for email addresses. After all, the first step toward better email marketing is building a mailing list. Tell people you’re starting an exclusive email program for your best customers and, if they sign up, they’ll receive promotions, relevant info, and members-only discounts and incentives.

Offer Options and Incentives: And speaking of incentives, the simplest way to avoid offending your list and receiving more unsubscribes than subscriptions, is to give them something they want. If you’re mailing out the same promotional flyer week after week, you’re likely to become a nuisance with fewer and fewer subscribers. Offer them something attractive that they can’t get anywhere else. And, if you’re still losing subscribers, suggest instead that they follow you on Twitter or your Facebook fan page or anywhere else you’re communicating with potential partners and clients.

Address the Subject: As anyone with an email inbox already knows, without an effective subject line, your email – regardless of how good the deal or irresistible the offer – will end up deleted before ever having the chance to interest anyone. If you want more people to open the emails you’re sending out, address the subject line first. Keep them as short as you can, if possible fewer than six words. The longer the subject, the more likely it’ll be cut off or ignored. Also, feel free to be creative. Try to imagine what would grab your attention and test it out. And then keep testing. Once you’ve found a subject line that drives up your open rate, stick with it and keep on it.

5 Steps To Building A Bigger Business Network On Twitter

 

1. Make Friends

The more people you follow, the more people will follow you. Choose some interesting people and businesses in your industry or region and follow them. Check their followers and follow some of them too. Not only will you have access to any tips and info they share, you’ll boost your visibility and attract your own followers. Search some keywords related to your industry here and follow the resulting users.

2. Ask Questions

Ask for feedback, advice, or opinions. Post a poll or a survey. Ask for information. Take the opportunity to listen and learn rather than using Twitter as a means for pure promotion and marketing.

3. Share Links

Find news, information, or anything else you find interesting and share the link with your Twitter followers. Sharing important or interesting information related to your particular expertise builds credibility and attracts like-minded users.

4. Offer Deals, Promotions, And Tips

Offer incentives. Discounts, deals, and valuable advice will earn you followers and promote your business and services.

5. Engage

Build a community by commenting and re-tweeting what other people have posted. Post something that isn’t directly related to your business. Talk about other businesses in your area. Point out interesting things in your community.
